Following the 1968 Olympic
Games in Mexico City (altitude 7,200' / 2,200m) the world of athletic science
virtually exploded with exploration of the effects of altitude on
athletic performance. More than thirty years later it's no longer
a secret that altitude can have a major effect on an athlete's competitive
results.
Research has demonstrated significant gains in athletic performance from a number of methods, especially from training low (at sea level) and living high (at altitude), but also from including some Hypoxic Workouts (HW), and even from passive mask-based intervals of breathing very hypoxic air (IHT).
Hypoxico Inc. - the first company in the world to provide hypoxic environments at normal atmospheric pressure without requiring stored nitrogen, has responded to these developments by providing athletes with the equipment to allow them to take full advantage of the remarkable performance gains to be made. The company has already had multiple patents approved worldwide, with several others pending, covering a wide range of applications. Today, Hypoxico is regarded worldwide as THE authority on altitude-simulation equipment for athletes and mountaineers

Who's using these systems?
All
kinds of athletes from a wide variety of sports are using the Hypoxic Training Systems
to obtain a competitive edge, and the results are often quite remarkable. The design of the systems means that they can be set up virtually anywhere, and that a wide variety of approaches to altitude training can be accomodated from a single product. In this way, athletes are able to maximize their gains. Furthrmore, the portability allows athletes to maintain these advantages right up to the competition date if they so desire.
Studies
on traditional High-Low methods have shown a 1-3% improvement in performance in as little as four weeks. Feedback from dozens of elite athletes using the Hypoxic Training System has frequently suggested even greater advances in power output.
Which method is best?
That's certainly a good question, and one which is asked more often as the various methods are introduced. The feedback Hypoxico has been able to collect over the years puts us in a unique situation to be able to offer real-world advice on what works, and guides both our products and suggested protocols.
Logistics certainly plays a big part in the decision as many people simply don't have the extra time to be able to sit with a mask each day (IHT), whereas others need a system that their whole team can use. Ultimately, for the MOST serious athletes, a combination of all approaches (sleeping, exercising, IHT mask) is going to be the best way to go,.... and Hypoxico's system allows you to perform all these methods, and more.

We bring the mountain to you SLEEPING SYSTEMS

The Hypoxic Tent System
At-Home Cubicle. CLICK for details
The cornerstone product of Hypoxico's altitude simulation line-up is the Hypoxic Tent System (HTS). A portable or permanent, state-of-the-art sleeping system that allows the athlete to spend worthwhile time in a low-oxygen environment, and thus develop and maintain the physiological benefits associated with altitude training while sleeping or resting. This is the product that has eliminated the need to travel to mountainous locations to obtain the "altitude effect", and that leveled the playing between those who have access to mountains, and those who don't.
|
Key features of the HTS include:
- 5000 Liters/hour fresh hypoxic air to keep it healthy.
- Hypoxic Air Generator can be set up close-by, or remotely.
- No noisy equipment needs be inside the tent, or even in the same room.
- No heat-emmiting equipment is inside the tent
- No chemicals inside the tent
- No granules or gas bottles to replace, ever.

We bring the mountain to you EXERCISING SYSTEMS
|
Hypoxic Exercise Systems
Why restrict yourself to sleeping at altitude when numerous studies , and much feedback from athletes, have shown that adding a few moderate-intensity Hypoxic Workouts (HW) can provide very significant extra benefits.
Over the years, Hypoxico has received “mountains” of positive feedback from athletes of all abilities who have had the opportunity to use our Hypoxic Room System, usually in their local health club.
But now it’s simple to incorporate some hypoxic workouts right at home using the same Hypoxic Air Generator as for our Tent Systems, and simply adding our inexpensive Exercise Mask.
|
Whether on a treadmill, exercise–bike, rowing machine, or even a “Stairmaster”, the exercise kit will provide you the unique ability to exercise whilst in a hypoxic state. The result: Increased VO2 max. Increase in fat burning, reduction in homeocystene levels and other health risk factors.

Using our SAME proprietary Hypoxic Generator, now also perform: Intermittent Hypoxic Training

performed at rest
via a hand-held mask
very hypoxic air (to 9.5% Oxygen = 20,000’+)
5 minutes on, 5 minutes off.
4-6 cycles per session
You may not have heard of IHT (Intermittent Hypoxic Training) YET, but if your area of interest is sporting performance, preparation for altitude, general health & wellness, or the medical field, undoubtedly you will be learning about it soon.
This well-proven technique was developed in the former Soviet Union in the 1930’s, initially as a way to prepare their pilots for the high altitudes they were going to be exposed to, and subsequently investigated for it’s remarkable health-related effects.
More recently it has gained attention for its benefit to athletes looking for performance gain.

Hello Shaun,
The Hypoxico system REALLY WORKS! My husband and I are both serious
bicycle racers in our 50's from the San Francisco Bay Area. We've
been sleeping in the tent since last October and have both taken a
GIANT LEAP in our performance compared to last year. Just thought
you'd like to hear this spontaneous testimonial.

Thanks Phyllis, and continuted good luck!
